Over the years Troy has developed quite a presence on the decks. No stranger to the electronic music scene, this progressive house DJ is a definite crowd-pleaser. One of Spundae's Nubreed residents, Troy has jammed up and down the west coast - from Portland to Seattle to the golden gates of San Francisco.
Having traveled down several traditional musical avenues, Troy found himself quite drawn to electronic dance music. He worked for three months as a lighting coordinator before learning the tricks of the trade and taking over the position as head DJ of the Portland club, Lotus.
In 1996, after completing his degree, Troy moved to Seattle where he quickly integrated himself into their underground rave community. At a time when Seattle was primarily funky house and breaks, Troy became known as "the one who played progressive house." As his DJ career exploded, the word quickly got out about his turntable skills.
After a brief three years in Seattle, Troy found himself in the grasps of Spundae and moving to the bay area. Helping manage Spundae's new record store, Troy soon established himself as a serious artist within the city's DJ culture. He became a familiar face behind the Spundae decks where he played alongside DJ giants such as Sasha, Dave Seaman, and Carl Cox.
Since joining Spundae Productions, Troy has landed residencies with Insomnia and Escape in Los Angeles as well as at Avantgarde in Mexico City. He has plans to begin production on a forthcoming single as well as a new mix CD.
Troy will be playing at Bedrock for their 3 year anniversary party as well as the Cross next month.
