Source of Gravity

Source of Gravity Records has only been in full operation since their first release in December 2000. Even in that short space of time, they have managed to receive acclaim worldwide for their own brand of progressive house music. Source of Gravity, the production team, was made up originally of Christian Steriopulos and Mark Wheawill, who first began to produce tracks together in 1998, using limited equipment. Their first progression onto vinyl entitled "Winter's discontent/Full moon" doing some damage as a result of a limited white label test press. Christian's brother Oliver was added to the production team and provided vocals for the second release "Futuristic visions" , which was remixed by Limbo Records Tipple outfit. The Tipple remix and the fine Source of Gravity original opened many doors for Source of Gravity... a proper distribution deal was clinched with Unique Distribution, a top 15 position in the Balance Chart appeared, a Muzik Magazine review followed, and then licensing in Greece. All this, not to mention support from the likes of DJ's such as Anthony Pappa and Chris Fortier.

The formula of Source of Gravity original mix and a guest remix continued for number 3 with Black Ice providing a super remix, leading to Lucien Foort licensing the track to his Singularity 02 compilation. Following that was a full remix package for the single "Full moon" which included great remixes by Choo Choo Record's Chris Cargo, and Mark Wheawill, who provided his first remix to the label. Reviews in DJ Magazine and M8 Magazine increased exposure for the trio, as did the preview of the track in the Pioneer CD Pool.

June 2001 brought the first release on the more Tech-House oriented Gravitation Records. It was a new Source of Gravity production entitled "Metallic Groove" which featured a remix from Fade. Top 15 Balance Chart placing occurred with this track, as well as another licensing to the CD Pool promotion group.

Release number 5 on the Source of Gravity imprint served up two mixes of "Angel Kiss" by the talented Mark Wheawill. This track is the first of many written by Mark and it made quite an impression on the circuit.

The latest release between the two labels comes from Mark Wheawill again, but this time it comes to us on the Gravitation label. Mark's original mix of "Tension" is backed up with a Tipple remix of "Eastern Joy". Already enjoying support from Andy Jarrod, Lucien Foort, Chris Cargo, Freebass Magazine, Tribal Sessions, and more... this is another solid release that is sure to keep the label in the boxes of DJ's the world over!

If the label's quick rise and rapid success in the last 6 months are any indication, the coming year looks very bright!
