 Credited with being the first Turkish producer to release a dance music album at the tender age of 22, Mert Yucel is no stranger to underground success as a DJ , producer and remixer. His successful studio efforts enabled him to make releases on top dance music labels like Choo Choo, Baroque, Distreakt, Kaos and Plastic Fantastic. While Italy’s Taste Promote DJ agency added him to their roster alongside G-Pal, Mas Collective, Steffano Greppi, Flash Brothers...
In the year 2002 Portugal’s Kaos Records released Mert Yucel’s highly acclaimed remix of tribal house classic, Underground Sound of Lisbon 'so get up' which has seen a patronage from big boys like Steve Lawler, Xpress 2, Dj Vibe, Omid 16B and Jamie Anderson just to name a few.
2003 was a big year with a heavy studio, DJ schedule and successful releases. Mert Yucel presents Silent Runner 'Deep Xperience EP' on Choo Choo Records had a great success all around the world with the support from Seb Fontaine, Anthony Pappa, Steve Lawler, Hernan Catteneo, Sultan and Lexicon Avenue etc. While Louis Osbourne has added 'definition' track from the EP to his cd mix compilation on Blue Chip Records US. Meanwhile Mert worked on some collaboration projects with Dj B++ and famous Turkish singer Aylin Aslım (aka Mish Mish). Trio’s first track called “dreamer” is a piece of chunky groovy house music blended with tribal , proggy and melodic elements with the perfect vocals. Pure driving basslines, chunky percussions and emotional melodies ... Track released on top progressive label Baroque Records UK and got a big support, became no.1 on highly respected Balance Promote Record Pool Chart and also not to forget the mention Mert’s remix of London 909 for the Piliavin and Zimbardo's highly acclaimed label Distreakt Records.
The year 2004 started with the release of Microwave EP on Nascent Recordings which has a wicked artist portfolio including Moschic, Flash Brothers, Subsky just to name a few. This EP consists of 2 tracks which are funky & tribally techy proggy house with the definite Mert Yucel style. Getting support from the boys like Omid 16B, Barry Gilbey, Sultan, Peter Bailey and Lexicon Avenue. End of the 2004, Mert Yücel released an other 2 track 12" on Plastica Records with his fellow studio friends Goknil Gokmen & Sarp Yılmaz. This release got huge success all over the world too with the plays from big boys. In addition to these Italian DJ agency TASTE PROMOTE added 2 unreleased tracks from Mert to their Club Revolution compilation which is due to release this summer. And Famous Ibiza DJ Jo Mills licensed 'the control' track from Mert Yucel to her new compilation cd on Seamless records.
2005 started with the release of Mert Yucel & Sarp Yılmaz "Gen Up EP". Release went on no.9 on respected Balance Promote Chart and played by almost every DJ. Meanwhile G-pal signed Mert Yucel vs Sarp Yılmaz "sneakee" to his Swift Records. Track is set to release this summer. Second Release of 2005 is a solo project. Mert Yücel "Get into my groove EP" is a 2 track release on subversive records. A side track 'Just Your Touch' features trademark grooves of Yucel and vocals by famous vocalist Derek Conyer. Perfect peaktime vocal house. B-side track 'Front & Back' is typical Mert Yucel's Istanbul style house music. Phattt baseline & groovy drums !!!!!

Mert played alongside some of world's groundbreaking DJs such as Sasha, Steve Lawler, Chemical Brothers, Nick Warren, Sander Kleinenberg. and Josh Wink at renowned parties, clubs, festivals and events all around Turkey and also in France and Lithuania...
