Fluid Recordings UK is home to some of the best dance music artists in the world. A firm belief in quality has pushed the label to the forefront of electronic music. Originally established in 1996 by Jon Sutton and Barry Jamieson (aka Evolution), the duo's main objective was to release an underground sound they felt was ignored by the industry. The success of the label's first record 'Antheum" was only the beginning.
This success continued to serve as an outlet for artists to release groundbreaking material as well as allowing the more established artists such as Evolution and Andy Ling a chance to bring their offering of dance music to the ears of people around the world. Diverse artists and cooperative projects including Coma Pirates, Mana, Christian West, Taylor, Jimmy Van M and Ritmo all have contributed to the label's highly respected profile.
Now over 30 releases later Fluid Recordings UK is still going strong. The label’s perseverance and innovation has brought underground dance music to a new level while still staying true to what they believe in. Constant support from champions like Sasha and Digweed (featured on their ground breaking Northern Exposure album and Communicate), who seek out quality production from artists that are willing to go that extra mile, have opened eyes of many to new talents and new sound this label has to offer.
Earlier this year Evolution and top DJ/producer Lucien Foort mixed an all-Fluid compilation consisting of new and old Fluid tracks. Some of the labels biggest Anthems like Andy Ling’s Fixation, Evolutions Phoenix, and Jimmy Van M’s E-C-I-P-S are just the tip of the iceberg. A definite must have.
Upcoming releases include Force Mass Motion "Release Me" and the big news on the Fluid Recordings UK front has to be the Evolution album "Unnatural Selection". The lead single featuring Jayn Hanna " Walking on Fire" includes Bedrock and Beloved remixes and is of the most highly anticipated of the year.
